This lovely restaurant, based on the old Welland Canal and Twelve Mile Creek, is simply, but tastefully, decorated, allowing the food, wine and the view to do "the talking".
The father and son team offer a very unique experience; you can reserve a table right in their kitchen, and they will serve you a multi-course tasting menu paired with carefully chosen wine. "An interactive evening meant for those who truly love the art of dining."
In November 2006, Treadwell was named one of the ten best new resturants in Canada by enRoute Magazine as well as Best New Restaurant 2007 by Toronto Life.
Stephen Treadwell has been involved in the art of cuisine for many years and has been one of a group of chefs that have brought attention to Niagara's culinary scene. After having worked for Queens Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake for 11 years and establishing a reputation there, Stephen started his own restaurant Treadwell. The dishes at Treadwell are crafted with the farm-to-table philosophy meaning that local ingredients are central to producing gourmet dishes. As well, Stephen Treadwell's restaurant also features a large selection of Niagara wines to compliment the cuisine.
