"Built by Archie Haines after a much smaller house has been moved from the site, this house proved to be too big to sit facing the street and was built sideways. Haines purchased the adjacent lot, which was owned by an elderly widow. He permitted her to remain there until her death, and subsequently enlarged his lot after her death.
Mr Haines lived in the house until his own death in 1950, after which his daughter Reta and her husband Reginald Farrell stayed there until Reta's demise in 2004." A Walking Tour of The Village of Jordan
The Haines-Farrell House is currently operating as a home and garden shop and tearoom (closed during the winter months), called Twenty Valley Tea House & Just Faux Fun Gift Shop.

"Visited: February, 2008. Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a teapot. Tea: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent. Appearance: Excellent.
Comments: Such a beautiful and inviting place. The service is exceptional, the ladies make you feel very welcome. The tiered afternoon tea sandwiches, scones and assortment of sweets is truly scrumptious. I like to go on my own for a break from my work day and have a great time chatting to the lovely ladies or other customers." Tea Guide - Worldwide Tea Directory review
