Kitchen House |
The Kitchen family have lived in the Grimsby area for almost 250 years. William Dennis Kitchen built this home with its three gables, Georgian style verandah and intricately designed windows for his family in 1860. William's relatives had lived in the area for a century before.
The house remained in the Kitchen family until 1959, which was about the time a fire destroyed the upper storey of the house. The gables were built after the fire and since then a room above the front enterance and half pie windows have been added to this distinctive house.
