Thorold Murals

The dream is becoming a reality; to have the largest mural project in all of Canada!  Artist Shawn Reimer and a team of community volunteers started in 2007 painting the history of Thorold on a series of panels.  Five of twelve grace the back of the buildings that march down the hill of the Escarpment, along the Welland Canal Trail.

Follow the directions from Lock 3 to the Twin Flights and Lock 7. Park at 50 Chapel Street South at the Lock & Tourist Centre and walk down the Welland Canal Trail which runs paralell with the Welland Canals Parkway running right along the Welland Canal.

Carefully cross the railway at the end of the trail and walk down another 5 minutes. This is where the Twin Flights are located, Lock 4,5 and 6).
