From Toronto:
QEW exit at Victoria Ave.
Left at (South) Victoria Ave .
Turn left (East) onto 8th Ave.669
The Falls are located on the left of this road just past the bridge. Park in the Community Centre parking lot and the falls will be to the left of it.
From Buffalo:
QEW Toronto exit at 57, Victoria Ave. (R.R.24),
Left (West) onto the North service Rd
Left (South)onto Victoria Ave.
Left (East) onto 8th Ave. 669.
The falls are located just past the bridge on the left hand side. Park in the Community centre.
The escarpment was created over 450 million years ago in the bed of a tropical sea. During this time the sediments of the area were compressed into rock which is mainly made of limestone and shale. With the retreating of glaciers in this area as well as the flow of water the stone was carved into the landscape that we see today. The escarpment is a UNESCO world biosphere reserve.

In some areas, the escarpment hosts old growth cedar trees that can be from 400-1000 years old. These trees can grow despite the cold and inhospitable Canadian winters, clinging to tiny cracks in the rocks.
Rockway Falls trails are mostly used for hiking, as well as viewing the natural wooded and rocky scenery which is common to the Niagara Escarpment.
