General Information

Welcome! Roaming The Rose City is a Self-Guided Tour that will bring you throughout Welland to ten unique points of interest. All of these points are in close proximity to the city’s most prominent and beautiful natural feature, The Welland Canal which will be a significant focus of this tour. This tour incorporates a variety of the city's well known features as well as a few lesser-known places/activities. The destinations and activities incorporated in this tour share a theme that will encourage you to enjoy the local culture ranging from food to music and art and so much more. As a city that is frequently visited for recreational enjoyment, you are encouraged to take your time to explore all the activities and features the city has to offer.

It is most strongly recommended that you take this tour on-foot or by bike, as each of the points you will visit are within minutes of each other. Each of the points highlighted in this tour have been selected to represent significant historical, ecological and/or cultural features of Welland. The tour will begin at Rose Manor, an at home bed and breakfast which is one of the city’s most well known and highly recommended overnight accommodations.

Additionally, located in the centre of Niagara, Welland not only offers a variety of unique features to visit and things to do, but it is also a great place to stay based on its central location in the Niagara Region. It is a hub for all surrounding destinations including Niagara Falls, Niagara-On-The-Lake, St. Catharines, Port Colborne and Buffalo.
