Easy Way Down and Up Bicycling Route |
This bike route is a slight variant on the Easy Way Up and Down bicycling route published by the Niagara Regional Bicycling Committee, modified to take you past several wineries and a couple of fruit stands.
It starts at the Beamsville Lions Community Park and takes you down the Niagara Escarpment to the tender fruit growing regions of Beamsville. On Quarry Road, cyclists will spot the unique De Sousa Wine Cellars, which offer a variety of wines as well as tastings in a traditional Portuguese clay cup.
After descending the Niagara Escarpment, you will loop around the tender fruit lands East of Beamsville and then briefly pass through the urban regions and into more rural landscapes to the west side of the town.
Along this path is Warner Orchards, a roadside vendor operating during the growing season and selling the popular tender fruit harvests found in Niagara.
As you climb up the Beamsville Bench from Lincoln Avenue, you'll see two distinctive Niagara wineries: Hidden Bench and Fielding Estates. Nearby on the Bench is Angel's Gate Winery.
After climbing the remainder of the Escarpment, you will appreciate the flat terrain and the view of rural landscapes as you return to the beginning of the route.
Destinations you may choose to visit on this route include:
