The Coach Stop Inn is one of the oldest homes in the Niagara Region, built in the 1800s, and one of only three buildings to survive the fire of the War of 1812 when American soldiers set Niagara-on-the-Lake ablaze in 1813. At that time Niagara-on-the-Lake was called Newark.
