Coach Stop Bed & Breakfast

The Coach Stop Inn is one of the oldest homes in the Niagara Region, built in the 1800s, and one of only three buildings to survive the fire of the War of 1812 when American soldiers set Niagara-on-the-Lake ablaze in 1813.  At that time Niagara-on-the-Lake was called Newark.

This Inn also holds a plethora of intrigue and mystery as many guests have reported seeing the apparition of a woman with jet black hair, green eyes, and fair skin in mirrors and windows. Research has shown that guests of the Coach Stop Inn are seeing Mary Bishop, a woman who once occupied the residence. According to legend, Mary Bishop, the operator of a halfway house, was killed two days before her wedding. For an evening and night of history, mystery and intrigue, visitors can choose from four suites.
