Pioneer Day - Jordan Village |
Every year as autumn sets in, the tree leaves change into vibrant colours and communities come together to celebrate the wonderful fall harvest. The wonderous setting in the Village of Jordan also brings to life the historical times of the pioneers. Come to the Town of Lincoln and visit the Jordan Historical Museum to go back in time and witness the magic!
Held throughout the grounds of the Jordan Historical Museum, Pioneer Day is filled with many fun and exciting activities that take place through out the day from heritage arts and crafts demonstrations to music and dancing. Satisfy your hungry and let your taste buds enjoy the traditional Mennonite foods, and try some famous apple fritters and delicious hot apple cider. Take a break and enjoy the scenery as the grounds overlook the beautiful fall foliage of the Twenty Valley.
Discover the magic and bring the whole family to experience the sights and sounds of what it was like to live in the pioneer days!
Pioneer Day takes place each year as a one-day event at the beginning of October (the weekend before Thanksgiving) and generally runs from mid-morning through to the late afternoon.

Pioneer day is a truly remarkable event that gives both children and adults the opportunity for a fun, educational and cultural experience. The Museum grounds showcases many different early settler demonstrations that people can watch or even take part in. Music and laughter fills the air as the Victorian dancers take stage and perform a skillful dance that is also open for public participation.
Community pride radiates from this event and the cultural signficance is demonstrated wonderfully by the volunteers and entertainers. The public gets an opportunity to understand and learn about the authentic Pennsylvania German Mennonite lifestyle, from the music and dance, to the wardrobe and food. Entertainers like the Playford Players and the White Pine Native Dancers bring to life the fun and excitement of the pioneer times.
