CAA Festival of Lights |
The Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls is an annual event that lasts most of the winter. The opening of the festival takes place around the time of the first snowfall in November and lasts until the end of January. Supported by CAA, the Niagara Parks Commission, and other businesses, the Festival of Lights makes a great evening trip with family or a string of outings with friends. Most events happen during the day or early evening but the festival takes place almost exclusively at night; no reason not to have a little fun in the dark!
Most of the displays are concentrated in the main area surrounding the Falls themselves. Within a fifteen minute walk of the brink and set within several park areas.

The areas that the festival covers are rich in history and stories; one example would be the Zimmerman fountain. This fountain is named after Sammual Zimmerman who came to Canada in 1842. The fountain itself was first made in 1856 and is the last remaining piece of his estate that is now Queen Victoria Park.
